Creative Consultant / Freelance Management

Purpose

More than anything, I want to help others achieve their creative goals.
Creativity has been a part of my life for a long time, so I understand how difficult it can be. Creative projects are prone to stalling as the growing task of managing the project eats into the time you have to actually work on the project.
This is what I would like to help you with. With a one hour consultation, I will work with you over a call to help you plan and organize your own creative projects. What does organizing look like? It looks like getting out from under the weight of not knowing your end goal, of not knowing how to get there, or being stuck with a messy foundation because the idea of resettling the basic concept is terrifying and you're unsure it will survive. Those sorts of problems are what my expertise is meant to help with; the problems that leave a project stuck in management doldrums.
The rest of this page is dedicated to showcasing my work so you can tell for yourself if my words have merit.

What i Can Help With

These are the sorts of questions I'm good at answering -

  • "How do I Ship this?"

  • "Where does my system fall apart?"

  • "How do i make this less confusing?"

  • "What do i do with this pile of notes?"

  • "What does this project want to grow into?"

Portfolio

Here's a summary and links to various projects I've put together

HexSwarm: Hostile Worlds

HexSwarm is my first and biggest project. It's a board game I designed and developed alongside a friend during the pandemic. It had quite the journey from inception, to prototyping on Tabletop Simulator, to art commissioning and management, to consolidation for a physical print run, and finally, eventually, a digital version sold on Steam as a virtual board game.I won't go into the entire history of its development here, but suffice to say, the journey was long and I am more than proud of it.

Studio in Progress

Studio in Progress is the new brand I am building for myself. It's both a statement of my workflow, my ethos, and my comedic ability.

Settings in Progress

I started with only one TTRPG setting. Then three more fell out of my head. Now I have a whole semi-joke brand based on my Studio brand. You can learn more about them here.

Monolite

If you thought I was going to stop at TTRPG settings, then you are sorely mistaken. Welcome to Monolite, my bespoke 19k word Alpha 2 TTRPG System that fell out of my head at 2am.

For Whomst is this Service?

This section is for other creatives who suffer from the same fate I do, a factory brain that cannot look at its own creations without spinning off two more creations in the time it takes you to write a single sentence of documentation about the first one.Fellow designers, solo creatives, developers, anyone who is buried under the weight of their own creations but has never been given training or blessed with the instinct of how to manage them.

But how does it Work?

In the same way that all great things are done, through conversation and a pile of markdown files. The starter offering is a one hour consultation over Discord call. The purpose of call over text is for focus; text allows us distractions which defeats the point of settling down and getting something tangible. From the call, I work with you to understand what the shape and scope of your needs are. After that's determined I have you come up with an action plan, share any tips or tricks that I personally have, and help you conquer the inertia demon. It's a formidable foe, but it is not invulnerable.

Booking and Rates

Rates are determined on a per client basis, but often the initial hour consult can be offered at no cost. Work above and beyond that out is done per case on negotiation basis. If you are interested in learning more, the best form of contact is Discord where my username is 64bitrobot or alternatively through email.
